I wish to notify the death of Flt Lt David Beasley Franklin in Tavistock on 3rd November 2016 aged 84. He is survived by wife Joan, their two daughters and their families.

Dave flew as a Navigator on Canberras at Binbrook (12 Sqn), Valiants at Marham (207 Sqn), Vulcan B2s at Coningsby and Cottesmore (IX Sqn), and Shackletons at Ballykelly (210 Sqn) and Lossiemouth (8 Sqn). He also served at the Joint RAF/RN HQ Pitreavie, at RAF/RN SOUMAR, Mount Wise, Plymouth and on Ascension Island during the Falklands conflict. His final tour was as a Controller at the Rescue Coordination Centre, Plymouth before retiring from the RAF in 1987 and setting up his own picture framing business.

Dave was respected and loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
