Bernard Noble died peacefully on 3December 2014 at the age of 85. He joined the RAF as a Halton Apprentice in 1946, was commissioned as a pilot in 1950, flying Meteors then Hunters on 54Sqn, before completing ETPS in 1956. He subsequently completed a tour on A Sqn at Boscombe Down on fighters 1957-60 and returned to test flying on E Sqn (transports) 1966-69. He continued in the RAF on ground tours, including a tour at Halton 1975-78 as a Sqn Cdr of one of the Aprentice Sqns. Following retirement from the RAF at the age of 55 in 1984, he continued as an RO at Boscombe Down in Handling Sqn (writing aircrew manuals) until he finally retired after a further 10yrs at the age of 65 in 1994.
