Hello All,
Not sure if this forum is still read, but I am interested in the late war and early post war years of Squadron 17.
I am trying to locate my fathers where-abouts with those of Spitfire RN135 (at that time flown by Battle of Britain Ace James "Ginger" Lacey) - he (William Henry Stallard) was an LAC responsible for this YB-A kite in particular at one time, along with many others.
He was in Bombay, Singapore, Burma, Miho and Iwakuni.
I have not been able to find any information for RN135 other than the production list [6MU 8-1-45, 222MU 5-2-45, Empire Paragon 12-2-45, India 12-4-45, 17S Japan 28-9-46, SOC 24-3-48].
In particular I'd be very interested in any personal recollections or researched histories of Miho and Iwakuni bases, but really anything of 17s history out East.

Thank you
Jim Stallard
