Despite falling the falling number of members now able to take part in the march, the Woking and District ACA was well represented at this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony and also at the Sunday parade and service in Woking’s Jubilee Square when the Association’s wreath was laid at the war memorial.
The ACA joined with the Woking Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association to hold their Christmas lunch at the Camberley Golf Club. Members and guests of both organisations, together with a party from Chiltern ACA, made a total of sixty-seven to enjoy a very happy occasion.
The principal guest, Wg Cdr “Lizzie” Nicholl made a moving response to the toast to ‘Ladies and Guests’ and chairman Ron Hepburn reviewed the Association’s past year paying particular tribute to the work done by secretary Tony Boxall. Tony then proposed the toast to ‘Absent Friends’ when the assembly remembered especially the members who made their final landings in 2016.
Sir Paul Holden, Bt
We will remember them.
