AirCrew Association Try to Beat the Weather
The audience at the November meeting of the AirCrew Association heard a most interesting talk by Garry Wykes, a former Warden of the Crown Jewels, on the treasures housed in the Tower. However, the December snowstorms resulted in the branch annual general meeting at Fairoaks Airport being postponed into the new year.
Fortunately, an interlude in the big freeze allowed the Christmas luncheon at the Camberley Heath Golf Club to go ahead with nearly a hundred members and guests present at a very enjoyable event. The toast to the Woking Branch was proposed by the president, Air Commodore Tom Bennett CBE, and responded to in sparkling fashion by the guest of honour, the Association vice-chairman, Colonel John Goodsir CBE.
Col Goodsir then presented presidential commendation certificates to branch members Tony Rest and Bill Bawden.
