Aircrew Honour the Fallen
Members of the Woking and District AirCrew Association took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade and service at the Woking war memorial. The Association's wreath was laid by the president, Air Commodore Tom Bennett CBE. Other ACA members attended parades at their local memorials throughout the area and Eric Smith GM represented the Association at the Cenotaph in London.
The November meeting at Fairoaks aerodrome featured an illustrated talk by Brian Service who spent thirty years with British Airways.
Although his own work was not directly connected with Concorde, Brian was fascinated by and became an authority on the history of the supersonic airliner. He has assembled what is possibly the largest collection of photographs and other memorabilia of Concorde in private hands.
Bian's enthusiasm for his subject was conveyed to his audience as he recounted his flights aboard and told a succession of stories about this unique aircraft.
