Members and guests attending recent meetings of the AirCrew Association at Fairoaks Aerodrome have been entertained by reminiscences of service days by branch members Laurie Taylor and Sir Paul Holden.
Entertainments Officer, Eric Smith GM, then took viewers further back in time by unearthing and screening a 1935 film, "Britain's Future is in the Air". This cinematographic archive piece showed RAF flying and ground training at that time with Lord Trenchard inspecting apprentices, aircraft carrier operations and parachute dropping from Handley Page Heyford biplane bombers.
A group of ACA members travelled by coach to attend the Veterans' Day celebrations at the RAF Museum at Hendon at which old acquaintances with both people and aircraft were renewed.
