On 5th November a party of 23 Woking Branch members visited RAF Odiham, the home of the Chinook helicopter force.

They were given conducted tours of two of the operational squadrons, Nos 18 and 27, by Sgt Mark Gamson of the latter, and shown films of the operations carried out during the current rotating deployments to Southern Afghanistan.

ACA Branch Chairman, Laurie Taylor, addressed the aircrew of both squadrons on the activities of the ACA and expressed the hope that some of the serving pilots and aircrew would join the branch and so add a more youthful blend to our membership.

The hospitality received from the RAF continued with lunch in the Sergeants' Mess and concluded with a get-together in the bar at which tales of long-past and more recent experiences in the air were exchanged to mutual enlightenment.
